How to Join

Membership is open to all singers. Selection is made by audition on the basis of:

  1. Musical ability
  2. Experience
  3. Openings available

Auditions are held during August and December and at other times of the year by special arrangement. The Chorale’s membership is limited to approximately 85 and proportioned so there is a balance among sections. Call any time during the year if you are interested in becoming a member.

Auditions

An audition takes about 10 minutes. You will be asked to do the following:

  1. Sing anything of your own choice. This can be a solo or part of a choral piece you have learned in the past. Do something you know well and can feel comfortable singing; it does not have to be difficult.
  2. Sight-read by singing your part in a short choral piece while all four parts are played on the piano.
  3. Vocalize.
