The West Shore Chorale performs as special guest with the Cleveland Women's Orchestra. Founded in 1935, the Orchestra is the last of many woman's orchestras that flourished in the early part of this century. The group regularly showcases young talent and offers free outreach concerts for schools, hospitals, and social service agencies.

Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 2 Lobgesang

The Chorale is proud to close our 40th Anniversary Season with the lyrical and seldom performed Lobgesang. In 1840, Mendelssohn composed this symphony to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the printing press. The stirring biblical texts chronicle man's progress from darkness to enlightenmentm paralleling the spread of literacy made possible by Guttenberg's invention.
